Having my own trailer was something I always wanted. So, when I got the chance to get my hands on an axle from a mobile home, I decide to build one. I used the whole axle from the mobile home, and I cut it to a desirable width. The axle was joined with pipe that fited right over the axle, like a sleeve. I left the springs. I just mounted the whole axle to my frame.
I built the frame from steel that was originally designed for a bus. I had to do some cutting and splitting to save on weight and I used my Black smith forge to bend an “A” shape front peace.
To make the pull hitch I used I steel beam and other accessories like a jack, a ball hitch, a chain and a carbine clip.
I welded all this material with a stick welder and cut it with a 9” grinder. I used bolts to mount the springs to the “U” brackets and the ball hitch and chain to the “I” beam.
I used treated lumber as decking and bolts to anchor it to the frame.
Then I put on lights and light protectors bent from re-bar.
And do not forget fenders!
The project did not ended there........
